Job Summary
We require a manual lathe machinist for our busy machine shop in Stockport due to a retirement within our organisation. A competent skilled machinist / manual lathe operator who has experience working on manual lathes and ideally milling machines. We are a company very reactive to customer requirements and machine 1‑off items to small batches.
Responsibilities
- Read engineering drawings.
- Work to a high standard, holding tight tolerances with excellent attention to detail.
- Set tools and understand cutting speeds and feeds.
- Use measurement/inspection equipment including verniers, bore gauges, micrometers, etc.
- Work well in a team and maintain a safe, clean and orderly work area in accordance with ISO9001 standards.
- Welding skills would be an advantage but are not essential.
- Training will be provided where required.
Working Hours
39hrs Mon‑Thurs 07:45‑16:45 & Friday 07:45‑12:45.
