Job Description

As a Regulatory Data Team Leader, you will lead a cross‑functional team in the delivery of regulatory reporting software solutions. The Data Engineering department writes software and reporting systems that communicate jurisdiction‑specific information to international regulators. These applications are built to a high standard, tuned for performance, and must be extremely reliable with incalculable low tolerances for error.

We use an architecture that includes high‑throughput, database‑centric distributed applications, batch reporting, integration with SOAP and REST APIs, and features both Windows and web services, as well as web applications.

We are looking for a leader who brings a background in technical databases or software engineering, strong people‑management skills, and a proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop a team. You will ensure the team’s output meets stringent regulatory reporting requirements while upholding high standards of architectural and technical design.

This role is eligible for inclusion in the company’s hybrid working policy.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a geographically distributed software delivery team.
• Highly organised and adaptable; adept at prioritisation, delivery, and driving efficiency in a high‑throughput, fast‑paced environment.
• Maintain a positive outlook whilst adapting to rapidly changing requirements.
• Experience driving collaboration across key stakeholders to clarify requirements, produce solution designs, and implement within required timeframes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
• Experience in designing and implementing software solutions within a cloud architecture is advantageous.
• Experience in a regulatory or commercial gambling environment is desirable.
• Commercial database development experience, coupled with optimisation skills, using SQL Server 2014 or later, T‑SQL, BigQuery, and GoogleSQL.
• Experience in database design and software architecture.
• Demonstrable experience of real‑time reporting and/or large‑scale database‑centric distributed systems.

• Ensuring governance so the team’s output meets regulatory reporting requirements and adheres to best design practices.
• Owning the delivery of reporting solutions to meet regulatory requirements.
• Collaborating with Finance, Compliance, and other stakeholders to prioritise work.
• Overseeing risks, issues, and external team dependencies through to completion.
• Identifying and implementing improvements to working practices, processes and deliverables to support efficient delivery of high‑quality software.
• Encouraging a collaborative, respectful and supportive working environment.
• Providing management with status updates of team deliveries and activities, escalating issues that risk timely delivery of project milestones.
• Adopting, implementing and driving forward agreed agile delivery practices within the team.
• Gaining an understanding of existing regulatory reporting systems, both the regulatory requirements and the interpretations that have been implemented.
