As a Maintenance Engineer, you will work as part of our Engineering Team to support electrical maintenance throughout our commercial buildings, undertaking both reactive and planned works. You will specialise in electrical maintenance and installation to manage and maintain services and systems for all of our sites within the property portfolio. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a variety of electrical equipment, including low voltage power, lighting systems, fire alarms and CCTV.
In addition to electrical system maintenance, testing and installation, you will create and complete all required maintenance documentation and update our electronic systems. This will include creating written job plans and technical reports. All working tasks are to be conducted in accordance with health and safety processes and procedures. You will be required to support the department’s on-call rota, including any pre-planned works and responding to equipment issues.
Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- City & Guilds 2330 Electro-Technical Technology (Electrical Installation), BTEC National Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Higher National Certificate in Electrical Engineering.
- Working knowledge of fire systems, CCTV, security systems and lighting controls.
- City & Guilds 2391-52 Testing and Inspection of Electrical Installations certificate is desirable.
- Application of good fault finding and communication skills are essential.
Main Responsibilities:
- Carrying out a full range of electrical maintenance duties to a high standard.
- Performing reactive and pre-planned maintenance activities.
- Supporting electrical compliance across our properties.
- Providing technical advice and support for all electrical systems.
- Carrying out elements of multi-skilled works including fixed wire testing.
- Installing new electrical systems and equipment.
- Supporting the Estates Manager with the development of processes and procedures.
- Supporting the delivery of contractor instructed works.
