Who we are looking for

An IT Support Engineer, who will be responsible for ensuring that assets are effectively organised, managed and tracked during the asset lifecycle. You will be responsible for maintaining managed IT assets within the Business, whilst working alongside the asset management team to ensure compliance. As a large Business with over 30,000 tracked assets, each user is assigned multiple assets which generates a large pool of data and physical assets to manage. The asset management team manage any new equipment coming into the Business and the IT support team deals with returned devices. You will maintain the asset register, to ensure that all returned assets have all required information accurately recorded, along with the decommissioning of hardware, either for re-use or disposal. You will ensure that our stock inventory is organised appropriately, so that assets can be easily located based on lifecycle status, and evaluate existing stock, replenishing shortfalls where necessary. This presents a great opportunity for you to make improvements and streamline existing processes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the integrity of data in the asset register through correct assignment and hardware status, based on life cycle status.
  • Facilitating the removal of assets from multiple IT systems, ensuring that hardware is decommissioned across all key platforms.
  • Assigning assets to individuals to confirm ownership.
  • Issuing stock on request to engineers to allow them to complete configuration activities.
  • Conducting regular stock checks and re-ordering where there are shortfalls.
  • Ensuring the stock room is tidy and methodically organised.
  • Preparing for regulatory audits ensuring stock levels align accurately with Configuration Management Database (CMDB) figures.
  • Recommending process and service improvements.
