This is a high-profile role with responsibility for driving commercial performance, marketing effectiveness and customer engagement across a business serving more than 100,000 independent retailers nationwide. As Bestway continues to invest in digital capabilities and data-driven marketing, the Marketing Controller will combine strategic thinking with operational excellence, develop teams, and play a key role in delivering Bestway's ambitious growth plans.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and delivery of integrated wholesale marketing activity across multiple channels.
  • Align marketing plans with trading priorities, commercial plans and business objectives.
  • Drive commercially focused marketing programmes that support sales growth, customer engagement and business performance.
  • Provide senior oversight of digital marketing strategy, performance and optimisation across e-commerce and campaign channels.
  • Maximise supplier-funded marketing investment and develop commercially effective marketing programmes.
  • Champion a data-led approach to marketing planning and decision making.
  • Utilise customer, campaign and commercial insight to improve marketing effectiveness and ROI.
  • Provide leadership and direction across wholesale and digital marketing teams.
  • Act as deputy to the Head of Marketing and support wider marketing transformation initiatives.
  • Serve as second-in-command to the Head of Marketing, driving planning, execution and performance of trade and supplier-funded marketing across multiple channels.

Qualifications

  • Significant senior marketing experience within wholesale, retail, FMCG or multi-channel environments.
  • Proven track record delivering commercially driven marketing programmes linked to sales performance.
  • Experience using data, insight and analytics to drive marketing performance and business growth.
  • Strong experience managing supplier-funded or trade marketing investment.
  • Expertise in digital marketing, e-commerce and performance marketing.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to link marketing activity to revenue outcomes.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to develop high-performing teams.
  • A collaborative leadership style and a desire to continuously improve ways of working.
