Overview of the role Due to continued expansion at Bestway Healthcare, we're looking for an Assistant Facilities Manager to join our growing team. Working alongside another Assistant Facilities Manager, you'll have responsibility for managing a Facilities Coordinator while supporting the Wholesale Facilities Manager to ensure our depots remain safe, compliant, well-maintained, and fit for purpose. This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll coordinate both planned and reactive maintenance, manage external contractors, support statutory compliance activities, and help ensure our facilities operate efficiently with minimal disruption to business operations. The role comes with a company vehicle and is based from our Leeds depot but with regular travel to our Durham site - the successful candidate must be comfortable with travelling when required. Main Responsibilities Support the day-to-day management of our warehouse and depot facilities, ensuring sites are safe, compliant, and well maintained. Coordinate planned maintenance, reactive repairs, statutory inspections, and minor projects across multiple locations. Manage contractors and suppliers, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards. Carry out site inspections, identifying maintenance requirements and resolving issues quickly. Support compliance across key building services, including fire safety, electrical systems, HVAC, water hygiene, and security. Build strong relationships with depot managers and operational teams, providing a responsive facilities service with minimal disruption to operations. Support facilities improvement projects, refurbishments, office moves, and equipment installations. Help manage facilities budgets, maintenance records, and compliance documentation while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Produce maintenance reports and performance updates, helping drive continuous improvement across the facilities function. The Ideal Candidate Experience in facilities management, building maintenance, or property services within warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, retail, or industrial environments. Good understanding of building services, planned maintenance, statutory compliance, contractor management, and health and safety legislation. Experience using CAFM or maintenance management systems to manage assets, maintenance activities, and compliance records. Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks across a multi-site environment. Competent in Microsoft Office applications, with good administrative and reporting skills. Full UK driving licence essential. IOSH, IWFM, NEBOSH, or other relevant facilities management qualifications are desirable. Bestway Healthcare is proud to be a diverse and inclusive employer.
