Overview of the role
Are you a strategic change leader ready to shape enterprise-wide transformation at scale? Bestway Healthcare is seeking a Head of Change Portfolio Office to drive the strategic, operational and transformational direction of its change agenda. This is a high-impact leadership role where you will establish and run a hybrid PMO/PPO model, ensuring all change across digital, data, retail, wholesale and regulatory domains is strategically aligned, well governed, and consistently delivered. Acting as custodian of the full change agenda, you will provide leadership with a single, transparent view of portfolio health and enable predictable, value-driven execution.
Main Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Governance
- Own and lead the Portfolio Office, blending PMO discipline with PPO outcome orientation.
- Chair quarterly portfolio reviews, monthly executive portfolio updates, and governance forums.
- Ensure all change follows a unified lifecycle—from idea intake to benefits realisation.
- Define, track, and report on benefits realisation, ensuring value delivery and continuous improvement.
- Maintain a single enterprise-wide Change Demand Register with transparent prioritisation.
- Provide an independent view of the portfolio to the Executive Team, including risks, interdependencies and delivery confidence.
- Portfolio Planning & Prioritisation
- Facilitate prioritisation using data-driven scoring models (strategic alignment, ROI, regulatory impact).
- Publish quarterly enterprise portfolio roadmaps aligned with product squad roadmaps and project plans.
- Integrate governance with the Investment Committee, preparing investment papers and advising on funding decisions.
- Continuously improve portfolio processes, frameworks and governance practices.
- Develop and maintain performance metrics, dashboards and reporting frameworks for actionable insights.
- Execution Oversight & Delivery Support
- Oversee progress across all initiatives (agile and waterfall), ensuring the right work is delivered at the right time.
- Proactively identify cross-team collisions, risks and issues, and coordinate resolution.
- Ensure governance is lean, value-led and supportive—not bureaucratic.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships to support informed, well-communicated and consistently adopted decisions.
- Leadership & Capability Building
- Act as a change leader, fostering a culture of transparency, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Lead and develop the Portfolio Office team (analysts, change support).
- Establish a Community of Practice for project and delivery managers.
- Provide coaching to project managers, product managers and business leads.
The Ideal Candidate
- Extensive experience in project/programme management and portfolio leadership within hybrid agile/waterfall environments.
- Proven track record of designing or running a PMO/PPO or enterprise portfolio governance function.
- Strong understanding of digital product operating models, agile delivery and OKR-based outcomes.
- Experience influencing at C-suite level and presenting portfolio-level insights.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change across complex, multi-brand, multi-disciplinary environments.
- Expertise in RAID management, portfolio analytics and enterprise prioritisation.
- Strong interpersonal, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
