About the role
We’re looking for a Range Review Manager to lead the end-to-end range review process across the wholesale trading business.
Working closely with Buying and Category teams, you’ll be responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering range reviews, ensuring all agreed changes are successfully executed across Supply Chain, Operations, Commercial and Depot functions.
You will be the central point of coordination, ensuring range changes are implemented efficiently and deliver commercial, customer and operational benefits.

Responsibilities
- Lead the annual and periodic range review process across assigned categories, partnering with Buying and Category teams to develop and execute range review plans that meets customer needs and commercial objectives.
- Establish review timelines, milestones, and governance frameworks.
- Ensure recommendations are supported by robust customer, category, sales, and operational insights.
- Coordinate activities across Supply Chain, Operations, Depots, Buying and File Maintenance teams.
- Identify and manage risks associated with product introductions, delistings, and range transitions.
- Develop detailed implementation plans for all approved range changes, monitoring progress and ensuring successful delivery against agreed timelines.
- Support depot readiness, stock run-down activities, and new product onboarding.
- Measure the effectiveness of range changes and review post-implementation outcomes, in order to provide actionable recommendations to improve future range review processes and category performance.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops and review meetings to drive decision-making and alignment.
- The Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience leading range review, assortment planning, or category management processes within a retailer, wholesaler, or FMCG supplier environment.
- Commercially minded and customer focused.
- Strong understanding of category management principles and range optimisation.
- Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional projects involving buying, supply chain, operations, and commercial teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects to tight deadlines.
- Ability to work across multiple IT, Commercial and Internal systems.
Desirable
- Experience within wholesale, convenience, grocery, or FMCG sectors.
- Understanding of supply chain and depot operations.
- Experience using category and range planning tools.
- Project management qualifications or equivalent experience.
