Passionate ECE leader wanted to guide our Pohutukawa room and support tamariki to grow, learn, and thrive at BestStart Redwood. BestStart Redwood is seeking an inspiring, experienced qualified and registered Teacher to step into the role of head teacher in our Pohutukawa room, supporting our curious and capable 2–3.5‑year‑olds. We are Tipu me te ako tahi | Growing and Learning Together. We’re looking for a leader who truly embodies this vision.

Our centre is a nurturing, language-rich, culturally grounded environment where tamariki feel confident, connected, and empowered. Our kaiako honour the mana of every child and design learning experiences that spark curiosity, joy, and a strong sense of belonging.

About the role: This is a permanent, full‑time (40 hours, Monday–Friday) leadership position. Our Pohutukawa room supports tamariki as they develop communication skills, build relationships, and grow their confidence as lifelong learners. You’ll lead a passionate team of kaiako committed to responsive practice and meaningful, intentional teaching.

What we’re looking for: A natural leader with proven ECE leadership experience and a strong commitment to high‑quality teaching and learning. You will bring:

  • BEd/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current certification
  • Strong knowledge of planning, assessment, and pedagogy
  • A deep understanding of Te Whāriki and ECE regulations
  • A commitment to quality practice and continuous improvement
  • The ability to inspire, guide, and support kaiako
