We are looking for a Merchandise Planner (m/f/d) to join the BestSecret team, looking after specific departments & categories. This is a permanent role on a full‐time basis with remote working as an option.

As a Merchandise Planner (m/f/d) for BestSecret, you will play an integral role in contributing to the overall company strategy, particularly within the Supply business unit that is responsible for the sourcing, procurement and in‐season trading of all products. In strong partnership with your buying counterpart, you will have the joint commercial ownership of a defined part of the business. You will be responsible for defining the financial KPI plan, that is reflective of the business strategy and steer the business against the plan while mitigating unforeseen risks and capturing additional opportunities. Reporting to the Head of Merchandising, you will bring planning excellence and analytical thinking, while successfully navigating the ever‐changing environment of an expanding international business. Flexibility, adaptability, collaboration, critical‐thinking and a commercial mindset will be key to being successful in this role.

Your Responsibilities

  • Analyze sales and stock performance, demonstrate an understanding of key drivers of profit and margin and provide recommendations for actions to help maximize opportunities and limit risk in collaboration with the Merchandise Planner.
  • Independent responsibility for an assortment sub‐area.
  • Drive weekly open‐to‐buy process to provide transparency and alignment with key stakeholders in a cross‐functional team (Supply, Demand, Logistics). Challenge where necessary to make sure the business is being managed pro‐actively.
  • In conjunction with your buying counterpart, identify future opportunities, develop assortment strategies, and then execute against them.
  • Build strong and collaborative relationships internally with other business functions and externally with relevant partners to help grow the business.
  • Weekly reporting and forecasting of all relevant KPIs.
  • Help evolve existing planning tools and processes where you see an opportunity to improve and streamline. Propose new ways of thinking or approaching our rapidly evolving business model.
  • Participate in pricing, promotion and mark‐down decision.

Your Qualifications

  • A degree in business administration or comparable business training.
  • Professional experience in Merchandise Planning, ideally within an international e‐commerce environment.
  • Strong analytical mindset and experienced in using planning and forecasting tools and systems.
  • An expert in using MS Excel and BI reporting tools and confident using other MS office applications.
  • Effective communicator - able to communicate messages clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences.
  • Able to work autonomously, results oriented and able to "think outside of the box".
  • Solution oriented with an entrepreneurial attitude.
  • Fluent written and spoken business English.
  • Desire to have fun at work and an appreciation for product.
