We are working with a leader in the UK's critical energy infrastructure sector, supporting the delivery of essential services to millions of customers nationwide. They are seeking a technically strong Cyber Security Analyst to strengthen their network and infrastructure security capability. This is not a SOC or shift-based monitoring role. The focus is on improving security architecture, hardening infrastructure, and embedding secure-by-design principles across network and cloud environments. This role would suit someone with a background in network or infrastructure engineering who has transitioned into security and is looking to deepen their technical impact within a complex, operationally significant environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, review, and enhance network security architecture, including firewalls, segmentation, and secure connectivity
- Conduct technical security assessments across on-premise and cloud environments
- Lead vulnerability management activities, including prioritisation and remediation oversight
- Harden servers, endpoints, and infrastructure platforms in line with best practice
- Review and optimise security configurations across network and cloud technologies
- Support secure deployment of new infrastructure and systems
- Contribute to security standards, baselines, and technical documentation
- Partner with IT and engineering teams to improve resilience and reduce risk
Required Experience
- Strong background in network and infrastructure security
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, routing, switching, and firewall technologies
- Hands-on experience with vulnerability management tools
- Experience securing Azure, AWS, or GCP environments
- Familiarity with endpoint protection and infrastructure hardening
- Working knowledge of recognised security frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls)
