About The Role

Due to our continued growth and a robust pipeline of exciting projects, we are seeking a full-time WordPress Web Developer to join our award-winning team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced developer to contribute to a variety of projects, including building new websites, maintaining existing platforms, and developing custom web applications. The successful candidate will demonstrate a forward-thinking approach, a keen eye for detail, and a high level of technical proficiency. They will be responsible for taking projects from initial concept through to final delivery, ensuring solutions are clearly defined, efficiently coded, and thoroughly tested. The role involves working closely with our digital team, which includes designers, account managers, and marketers, to deliver exceptional results that meet our clients’ needs and expectations. The position offers a hybrid working model, combining time in our Woolpit studio with remote work, providing flexibility and work-life balance.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years’ experience developing WordPress themes, plugins, and websites in a fast-paced agency environment. Proficiency in PHP (procedural and object-oriented, version 7 and above) is essential. Experience working with WordPress plugins and extensions that are core to our development process is highly desirable. Candidates should have a solid understanding of WordPress coding standards and be comfortable working with technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL. Additional beneficial skills include knowledge of on-page SEO techniques, schema markup, and experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum. Candidates should also demonstrate strong communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a passion for digital technologies and responsive design.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting WordPress websites for a diverse client base. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing custom themes and plugins, integrating WordPress with third-party systems such as Salesforce, Sage, and Hubspot, and ensuring websites are optimized for performance, security, and SEO. They will collaborate with the design and content teams to translate client requirements into functional digital solutions. The role involves writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code, conducting thorough testing, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Additionally, the developer will participate in project planning, contribute to technical documentation, and share knowledge with team members.
