Salary from £28,860 for 4 days per week or £31,200 working a 40 hr week over 4.5 days in one week and 37 hours over 4 days the following week. Small owner-run setting.

- Ensure your team is correctly following procedures.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with parents.
- Train new members of staff in your room and ensure the induction is completed.
- Support staff development and work closely with other staff and professionals.
- Communicate with parents and other visitors in a calm, friendly and efficient manner.
- Operate a programme of activities that meets the individual needs and interests of children in your area in conjunction with other team members.
- Keep records of your key children’s development and learning journeys and share these with parents, carers and other key adults in the child’s life.
- Follow the nursery safeguarding procedure to ensure all children are kept safe, well and secure.
- Support all staff and engage in a good staff team.
- Liaise with and support parents and other family members.
- Be involved in out of working hours activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, parent evening, etc.
- Be flexible within working practices of the nursery.
- Be prepared to help where needed, including undertaking certain domestic jobs within the nursery, e.g. preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment, etc.
- Work alongside the Manager and team to ensure that the nursery’s philosophy is fulfilled.
- Read, understand and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role as deemed appropriate by the Manager.
- Record accidents in the accident book; ensure the Duty Manager initials the report before the parent receives it.
- Look upon the nursery as a whole and determine where your help can be most utilized; be constantly aware of the individual needs of all children.
- Ensure someone known and agreed by the nursery and parent collects the child.
- Respect the confidentiality of all information received.
- Approve your team’s observations – giving positive feedback.
- Ensure planning is correctly implemented and child appropriate.
- Ensure all the seven areas of learning are covered daily.
- Prepare and complete activities to suit each individual child's stage of development and interests.
- Develop your role within the team, especially with regard to being a key person.
- Ensure that meal times are a period of pleasant social sharing.
- Wash and change children as required.
- Maintain good standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness at all times.
- Ensure a child is kept calm and warm, and that management is notified immediately.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships and communication with parents/carers to facilitate day-to-day caring and early learning needs.
- Provide a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children regardless of any disabilities, family backgrounds or medical history.
- Uphold the high profile of the nursery and its standards at all times, both within work hours and outside.
