Key Responsibilities
- Childcare & Development
- Plan and deliver engaging activities based on EYFS
- Monitor, assess, and record children’s development
- Support children’s emotional, social, and physical needs
- Room Leadership
- Lead and supervise a team of nursery practitioners
- Delegate tasks and support staff development
- Maintain staff ratios and daily organisation
- Safeguarding & Welfare
- Ensure children’s safety and wellbeing at all times
- Follow safeguarding policies and procedures
- Report concerns in line with legal requirements
- Administration
- Maintain accurate records (learning journeys, observations)
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted standards
- Manage daily room routines and planning
- Parent Partnerships
- Build strong relationships with parents/carers
- Provide feedback on children’s progress
- Support settling-in processes
Qualifications & Experience
- Essential: Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare, Experience working in a nursery setting, Strong knowledge of EYFS, Experience supporting or leading a team
- Desirable: Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding training, Previous Room Leader or Senior Practitioner experience
