About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to support the day-to-day running of our welcoming and high-quality early years setting. Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring outstanding care, education, safeguarding, and staff development. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional looking to take the next step in their childcare career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Nursery Manager in the overall leadership and management of the setting
  • Lead by example to deliver high standards of care, learning, and safeguarding
  • Supervise, mentor, and support nursery staff, including room leaders
  • Ensure compliance with EYFS, Ofsted standards, and safeguarding policies
  • Build strong, positive relationships with children, parents, and carers
  • Assist with staff rota management, recruitment, and training
  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or support in this area
  • Step up in the Manager’s absence

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years (Level 5 preferred)
  • Proven experience in a senior role within an early years setting
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding requirements
  • Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional childcare and early education
  • A positive, approachable and proactive attitude
