Job Summary:
We are seeking a deputy for our nursery setting. The suitable candidate will be welcome to start as soon as possible. You will assist in the leadership and management of the nursery, helping to lead the team towards attaining outstanding provision for our children. You will support the manager and take charge in their absence. You will have a passion for childcare, and the differences that early years practitioners make to a child's development. This role will suit an experienced nursery practitioner ready to take on additional responsibility. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to join our team. You will work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure the smooth running of the setting, providing high-quality care and education for children.
You will need to have the following qualifications, training and experience:
- Minimum 2 years post-qualification childcare experience (required)
- Minimum Level 3 Early Years or equivalent
- Knowledge of OFSTED grade descriptors' general standards and the recent changes
- In-depth knowledge of Early Years pedagogy and best practice
- Room leadership experience
- Exceptional standards of customer service - professional, polite and positive in all verbal and non-verbal interactions with staff, parents, children and visitors.
- Positivity and leadership - experience in motivating a team and getting the best out of people
- Energy and enthusiasm - commitment and willingness to learn and develop
- Ambition and vision - We are a dynamic group and expect staff to contribute their thoughts and ideas to help us all achieve our future goals
The ideal candidate will preferably have additional experience within SENCO/safeguarding.
