Summary

Are you a passionate advocate for inclusive education? We are looking for a dedicated Nursery SENCO to lead our SEND provision and ensure every child in our care has the opportunity to thrive. You will be the heart of our inclusion strategy, bridging the gap between our practitioners, parents, and external specialists.

  • The Graduated Approach: Lead the Assess, Plan, Do, Review cycle for children with additional needs, ensuring personalised support plans are effective.
  • Staff Support: Mentor and train practitioners to identify early signs of SEND and implement differentiated learning strategies in the classroom.
  • Multi-Agency Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for external professionals, including Speech and Language Therapists, Educational Psychologists, and Local Authority Area SENCOs.
  • Parent Partnership: Work closely with families to provide guidance, share progress, and support them through the EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) application process.

What We Are Looking For

  • Qualifications: Minimum Level 3 in Early Years/Childcare is essential. Holding (or working towards) the Level 3 Early Years SENCO Award or having Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Proven experience supporting children with a range of needs (e.g., ASD, ADHD, GDD) within an early years setting.
  • Knowledge: A deep understanding of the EYFS Framework, the SEND Code of Practice, and the local authority’s 'Local Offer'.

  • 35 days holiday a year (including bank holidays and nursery closure between Christmas and New Year).
  • Paid training, including 2 inset days per year, funding, and paid time off for Forest School/Leadership training to members of staff that show strength and dedication in these areas.
  • 5 days full sick pay.
  • Comprehensive Vitality Health Insurance when you have worked with us for two years.
  • 50% off childcare fees, plus another 10% for every year you work with us.
