Overview Nursery Room leaderLocation: Berkshire, Reading, ENGTo lead and manage a Montessori classroom, ensuring the highest standards of education and care are provided in line with the Montessori philosophy, the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), and all relevant statutory requirements. To act as a role model and mentor to staff, fostering a nurturing and stimulating learning environment where every child can reach their full potential.Key Responsibilities Leadership & ManagementLead the day-to-day operation of the Montessori room, ensuring smooth running and consistency of practice.Support, supervise, and mentor practitioners and assistants in the classroom.Plan, implement, and evaluate the Montessori curriculum in line with EYFS requirements.Ensure policies and procedures are followed at all times.Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and management.Teamwork & Professional DevelopmentWork collaboratively with early years practitioners and management.Support ongoing staff training and development.Attend staff meetings, training, and relevant Montessori conferences or workshops.Qualifications & Experience Essential :Montessori Diploma (AMI, MCI, or equivalent).Level 3 (or higher) qualification in Early Years Education and Childcare.Strong understanding of Montessori principles and EYFS framework.Experience in a Montessori early years setting, ideally in a senior or leadership role.Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.A current enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).Desirable :Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding training.Experience mentoring or training junior staff.Knowledge of SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) support.Personal Attributes Passionate about Montessori education and early childhood development.Calm, patient, and nurturing demeanor.Strong sense of responsibility and professionalism.Reflective and eager to develop professionally.Committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and positive environment for children and colleagues.If you are enthusiastic about shaping young minds and contributing positively to their educational journey, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position.Join us in making a meaningful impact on the lives of young learners as an Early Years Educator!Best Start Recruitment want to help you to make the right choice in your next career move.
