Our precision engineering industry client is seeking a Lead CNC Machinist. This role suits someone who enjoys being on the tools, leading by example, and driving quality and continuous improvement on the shop floor.
Responsibilities:
- Programming, setting and operating CNC turning and mill-turn machines
- Acting as the technical lead within the CNC Turning section
- Proving programs and resolving machining issues efficiently
- Supporting new product introduction (NPI) and process development
- Producing precision components to tight tolerances
- Machining materials including aluminium, stainless steel, brass and other alloys
- Supporting production planning, job prioritisation and effective shift handovers
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience with CNC turning and/or mill-turn machines
- Confident using Mazak, Fanuc and/or Siemens controls
- Proven ability to program, set and operate CNC machines independently
- Experience with twin-spindle and/or Y-axis machines highly desirable
- Able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
- Natural leadership style with a hands-on approach
- Previous experience as a Senior or Lead Machinist advantageous
