Quality Inspector (Mechanical) Our precision engineering industry client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector. The suitable candidate should have a solid background in quality and precision engineering? This is a great opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business in Surrey, working on high-precision components within a forward-thinking environment. As part of the quality team, you will play a key role in inspecting machined, cast, moulded and assembled parts, ensuring high standards are consistently met across all stages of production. Mechanical Inspector Responsibilities: * Perform visual, functional and dimensional inspection of mechanical components and final products * Create CMM programs and carry out detailed component inspection * Generate inspection documentation such as FAIRs and control plans * Conduct batch, inter-stage and first article inspections * Support root cause investigations and contribute to quality improvement activities * Provide feedback on inspection issues to relevant teams * Update ERP systems accurately and maintain a clean, safe working area Requirements: * 3 or more years’ experience in a mechanical inspection role within manufacturing * Experienced with traditional metrology tools (micrometers, Verniers, height gauges, etc.) * Confident reading engineering drawings with a good understanding of geometric tolerancing * Experience setting and/or operating CMM machines is ideal for this role * Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality standards is desirable * A qualification in Mechanical Engineering is advantageous
