Our client is seeking an experienced Account Manager to manage and grow senior-level relationships across its smart metering customer base. This is a national, customer-facing role focused on driving revenue, profitability, and long-term partnerships with Energy Companies and Meter Asset Providers (MAPs). You’ll act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, owning account strategy, forecasting, commercial performance, and escalation management, while positioning our client as a preferred smart metering partner.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and deliver strategic sales account plans, revenue and profit targets
- Build and manage senior relationships across Energy Companies & MAPs
- Lead account activity, ensuring all internal teams align with customer strategy
- Manage forecasts, product availability, and revenue vs budget reporting
- Lead RFI/RFP/ITT responses and commercial negotiations
- Present proposals, performance data, and mitigation plans to stakeholders
- Identify growth opportunities and competitor activity
- Act as our client’s market representative, upholding brand and values
- Travel to customer sites across the UK as required
Key Requirements
- Degree educated (preferred)
- Experience in the metering field
- Strong account management, sales, and relationship development background
- Experience managing contracts, negotiations, and change
- Proven ability to deliver against targets and KPIs
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable working cross-functionally in a matrix organisation
