Job summary.

Are you a dedicated and skilled healthcare professional with a passion for delivering exceptional patient care? We are seeking motivated physician associates to join progressive primary care teams across the UK. In this pivotal role, you will work autonomously under the supervision of a GP, providing high‐quality clinical care and contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of our healthcare services.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing.
• Develop and implement personalized care plans, addressing acute and chronic health issues.
• Perform procedures within the scope of practice, such as wound care, minor surgical interventions, and immunizations.
• Manage a diverse caseload, including diagnosing and treating common and complex medical conditions.
• Monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to care plans to ensure optimal health outcomes.
• Work closely with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated patient care.
• Consult with supervising GPs on complex cases, seeking advice and guidance as needed.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic health record systems (e.g., EMIS or SystmOne).
• Ensure documentation meets NHS standards and legal requirements.
• Educate patients about their conditions, treatment options, and health management strategies.
• Advocate for patient needs and coordinate care transitions between primary and secondary care settings.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical practice and patient care.

Person Specification

Qualifications and experience.

• Postgraduate diploma in physician associate studies or equivalent.
• Current registration with the UK Faculty of Physician Associates (FPA) or equivalent professional body.
• Proven experience in a clinical setting, ideally within a primary care or GP practice environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a broad range of medical conditions and procedures.

Skills and competencies.

• Proficient in conducting comprehensive clinical assessments and developing care plans.
• Strong clinical decision‐making and problem‐solving skills.
• Experienced in using electronic health record systems for documentation and care management.

Knowledge.
