Key responsibilities.

Administrative support.

· Manage alladministrative aspects of the practice, including scheduling appointments,managing patient records, and handling correspondence.

· Serve as the primarypoint of contact for patients, healthcare providers, and external agencies,ensuring timely and effective communication.

· Prepare and processreferrals, medical reports, and other documentation with precision andconfidentiality.

  • Provide a welcoming and professionalenvironment for patients, addressing their queries and concerns withempathy and efficiency.
  • Ensure all patients receive accurateinformation regarding their appointments, test results, and treatmentplans.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to facilitatepatient care and ensure seamless service delivery.

Records management.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronicand paper-based patient records, adhering to all data protectionregulations.
  • Ensure the secure handling and storage ofsensitive medical information, maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Communication and coordination.

· Liaise with GPs,nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care andmanage workflow effectively.

· Handle incoming andoutgoing communications, including phone calls, emails, and letters, in aprofessional manner.

Office management.

  • Oversee the daily operations of the medicaloffice, ensuring an organised and efficient work environment.
  • Manage office supplies and equipment, ensuringthey are maintained and available as needed.

Team collaboration.

  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team,contributing to team meetings and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & experience.

· Two years’ experience as a medical secretary or similar role within ahealthcare setting.

· Proficiency in medical terminology and an understanding of healthcareprocedures.
