About the Role:

This post will holistically plan, and support from interview stage through to completion of the programme. You will be providing high quality training and assessment for trainees based in the early years education sector. Your knowledge and experience will be shared with trainees to ensure they achieve Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS).

Job Responsibilities

Assessment

  1. Complete termly skills reviews with trainees and identify skills and knowledge gaps against the EYITT curriculum themes.
  2. Conduct visits in accordance with the programme requirements, completing observations in workplace and placement settings, liaising with mentors and lead trainers.
  3. Develop and take responsibility for the delivery of individual training plans tailored to trainees\’ needs.
  4. Maintain records relevant to individual trainees.
  5. Support the delivery of high-quality curriculum mastery to meet the Teacher Standards (Early Years).
  6. Assess and provide feedback to learners using the portfolio system (Mosaic).

Training

  1. Develop individual action plans tailored to trainees\’ needs.
  2. Support the delivery of training using approved training resources to cover curriculum themes.
  3. Provide tutorial support including key training for the trainees (and employer around Prevent and British values), personal development, behaviour, and welfare, safeguarding and any additional learning support requirements.

Co-ordination and Support

  1. Monitor trainees\’ progress and provide support in completion of evidence and uploading onto Mosaic.
  2. Detail, monitor, record and report on ALS.
  3. Supply information to employees and employers to support ITT programmes.
  4. Liaise with Line Managers to facilitate reviews and appraisals.
  5. Provide appropriate data and information regarding the programme and trainees as required and contribute to the regular self-evaluation monitoring process.
  6. Review the teaching file and learning sequences on each visit, and provide feedback on work submitted.
  7. Provide mental health and wellbeing support to trainees.
  8. Ensure that any necessary placements are arranged and attended, giving suggestions for schools/settings if required.

Administration

  1. Complete all relevant documentation in order to progress the signing up and recording of new trainees on the programme.
  2. Maintain documentation that records the progress of trainees on programme against specified targets.
  3. Complete documentation in relation to visits to employers, trainees reviews, assessment visits and any other such appointments that evidence, support and maintain relationships with trainees and employers.
  4. Ensure timely achievement of all trainees on programme and complete all other required documentation.
  5. Make recommendations about the award of Early Years Teacher Status and grading in June.

Other

  1. Any other duties connected with the post as are reasonably required from time to time.
  2. Ensure own CPD is kept up to date, and attend CPD and Standardisation events, as appropriate, delivered by BPN.
  3. Participate in all BPN quality assurance and act promptly on all feedback.
  4. Support Ofsted preparation and visits.
  5. Interview potential candidates and ensure timely completion of paperwork to strict deadlines.
  6. Present EYITT briefings to potential applicants to boost recruitment within your locality.

Essential Criteria

  1. Hold a relevant degree qualification and have substantial experience in the subject area.
  2. Have up-to-date industry knowledge.
  3. Hold GCSE A-C (4-9) or equivalent Numeracy, Literacy, and Science qualifications.
  4. Able to develop strong professional relationships with employers and trainees.
  5. Have strong IT skills and be willing to work with online systems (Mosaic, Canvas).
  6. Can motivate learners and ensure they complete on time.
  7. Hold a full driving licence, have own vehicle and be willing to travel to customer sites.
  8. Have high levels of motivation and the ability to use own initiative.

Desirable Criteria

  1. Have experience of working with employers in a training or customer relations role.
