We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Teaching Assistant Apprentices to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and are eager to develop their skills within education.
Location: Thomas Bewick School, Newcastle Upon Tyne (NE5 2TX)
Start date: 7 September 2026
Salary: £13,936 per year (may increase after probation)
Duration: 18 months
Hours: 33.5 hours per week
- Monday – 8.45 am – 3.45 pm
- Tuesday – 8.45 am – 3.45 pm
- Wednesday – 8.45 am – 4.30 pm
- Thursday – 8.45 am – 3.45 pm
- Friday – 8.45 am – 4.00 pm (30‑minute lunch break)
About the role:
- Support pupils in classroom activities and learning
- Work alongside teachers and specialist staff
- Assist with educational visits and life skills activities
- Support pupils with additional care needs where required
- Help plan and deliver learning activities
- Provide feedback on pupils’ progress and wellbeing
