Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring apprentice to join our team. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are ambitious and want to gain playworker qualification while getting experience. You'll create meaningful relationships with the children, your team and with the parents.- 32.15 hours per week, Β£12.85ph, Lunch Break.

Purpose of the role - To support teachers and the wider Inclusion Team in providing high-quality learning and pastoral support to students across South Molton Community College, whilst completing the Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard.

The post holder will develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to become a qualified Teaching Assistant through a combination of practical experience, mentoring and off-the-job training.

Supporting StudentsSupport students individually and in small groups during lessons. Help students access learning activities and remain engaged. Encourage independence, confidence and resilience. Support students with SEND, SEMH and additional needs. Promote positive behaviour using school behaviour systems. Supervise students safely during learning activities. Support emotional wellbeing where appropriate. Support with after school homework club.

Supporting Teaching and LearningPrepare individualised classroom and learning resources. Assist with the planning of learning activities. Support students with learning during lessons. Reinforce learning through questioning and explanation. Observe good classroom practice. Develop skills in adapting resources. Assist with assessment activities. Record observations of student progress and provide detailed and regular feedback on student's achievement and progress. Deliver predetermined learning/care/support programmes.

Undertake general administrative support for the Assistant SENDCo & SENDCoProfessional Development Complete all apprenticeship assignments on time. Maintain an apprenticeship portfolio. Attend all off-the-job training. Participate in regular reviews with the training provider. Reflect on own practice. Seek and act upon feedback. Demonstrate continual professional development. Attend whole school INSET training.
