Summary
TAs work with and care for children of all ages. They play an integral part in pupils well-being; ensuring pupils thrive in a positive environment. TAs will be offered a personalised pathway to develop in up to two specialist areas: Special Educational Needs and Disability, Early Years, Behaviour, English as an Additional Language and Assessment.
What will the apprentice do at work?
  • Supporting students to accomplish their daily goals in a variety of subjects
  • Work with teachers to understand and support assessment
  • Develop effective and informed practice
  • Safeguard and promote the health, safety and welfare of children
  • Develop strategies for support
  • On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will be awarded the Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship qualification.
  • Training schedule has yet to be agreed. Details will be made available at a later date.
Future prospects

It is up to you what you do when you have finished your apprenticeship. There may be an opportunity to stay on at the same company and progress to the next level of apprenticeship or you may want to look for a new job or professional development opportunity.

Other things to consider

The offer of appointment is subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, which includes, but is not limited to, evidence of eligibility to work in the UK, at least 2 references, a satisfactory medical report, a satisfactory disclosure from the Disclosure Barring Service, any other checks required by statutory guidance applicable to the position.
