This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and deliver complex capital projects that will shape the future of our production facilities. As a hands-on engineer, you will be responsible for managing projects from initial concept through to commissioning, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, engage with suppliers and contractors, and oversee installation and commissioning activities. Your expertise will directly impact operational efficiency, safety standards, and innovation initiatives across our site. This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented engineer passionate about project management, mechanical systems, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical skills, project management experience, and a proactive mindset. Essential qualifications include a degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in designing and installing production lines, managing capital projects, and working within fast-paced manufacturing environments is required. Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating layouts and technical documentation, along with experience using Microsoft Project for scheduling and planning, is essential. Strong command of MS Office, especially Excel, is necessary for reporting and data analysis. Financial acumen related to budgeting, investment planning, and cost control is also important. Bonus points will be awarded to candidates with experience in food manufacturing and a mindset geared towards continuous improvement and innovation.

Responsibilities:

• Create detailed AutoCAD layouts and comprehensive project documentation for new and upgraded mechanical systems to ensure precision and clarity in project execution.
• Support the installation of production and site equipment, providing hands-on assistance during commissioning and ensuring adherence to safety standards.
• Collaborate with suppliers to source the most suitable equipment, balancing performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness to meet project requirements.
• Lead projects from initial scoping, building investment cases, developing timelines, and managing budgets to successful completion.
• Oversee contractors and vendors, issue permits, enforce safety protocols, and monitor progress to ensure projects stay on track and within scope.
• Manage project documentation, update project systems regularly, and communicate progress effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for operational enhancements and innovative solutions.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies throughout all project phases.
