We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Bingley, BD16, on a full-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Food Technology specialist who enjoys inspiring students and creating engaging, practical lessons.
The Role
As a Food Technology Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Teach practical cooking, nutrition, food preparation and food science.
- Develop students’ practical skills, creativity and understanding of healthy eating.
- Prepare students for GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition where required.
- Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Ensure excellent standards of food hygiene, health and safety.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider school community.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching experience.
- Experience teaching Food Technology within a secondary school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge and practical food preparation skills.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A passion for teaching and supporting young people’s development.
- The ability to plan and deliver engaging, practical lessons.
- An enhanced DBS check, or be willing to obtain one.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
