Key Responsibilities: – Design, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons to KS3 and KS4 students. – Create a positive and stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. – Assess, monitor, and track student progress, offering constructive feedback to guide continuous improvement. – Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share resources, contributing to a cohesive and comprehensive curriculum. – Participate actively in departmental meetings, shaping the development of the English curriculum and supporting the department’s overall success. – Engage with parents and carers, providing regular updates on student progress and addressing any concerns. – Play an active role in the school community, participating in extracurricular activities and supporting school events. The Ideal Candidate: – Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in English or a related field. – Has proven experience teaching English at the secondary level, with a thorough understanding of the national curriculum. – Possesses a deep passion for English literature and language, with the ability to inspire students of all abilities. – Demonstrates excellent classroom management skills and the ability to cultivate a stimulating learning environment. – Exhibits strong organisational and communication skills, thriving in a collaborative team setting. – Is committed to continuous professional development and eager to contribute to the school’s ongoing success.
