Here at Best.Energy, we’re looking for an experienced Energy Optimisation Manager to join our UK team. You’ll bring proven expertise in energy management and a track record of delivering measurable savings, helping us support clients on their journey to greater efficiency and sustainability.

The Role
As an Energy Optimisation Manager, you’ll help our customers achieve their energy saving goals. Your new role is centred around providing customers with knowledge and expertise on how their energy is being used and where they can make savings. You may have previously worked in roles such as Energy Analyst, Energy Manager, ESOS Lead Assessor or Environment / Sustainability Consultant. You will ideally have knowledge and experience of energy management in a broad range of business sectors; including hotels, food production, restaurants and manufacturing. The wider energy management team is located in several global locations (UK, US, and Malaysia), therefore collaboration and communication are key.
- Monitor sites and individual assets remotely through the Best.Energy Analytics platform and other online dashboards.
- Provide analysis and insight into how a customer site uses energy and other utilities, to enable the customer to make smart decisions and save energy.
- Create and distribute detailed, accurate reports to customers and internally.
- Make recommendations for capital investments that will save energy - ie. ECMs (Energy Conservation Measures) - and justify these with data-led business cases.
- Consult on the optimisation of current systems, including BMS, to optimise energy performance at client facilities.
- Recommend changes in customer and staff behaviour to save energy, whilst maintaining standards.
- Create, monitor and respond to digital alarms alerting to specific behaviour or circumstances to ensure ECMs are being followed, energy is being saved and customer business is not impacted.
- Clearly communicate with clients, ensuring expectations are met and issues resolved promptly and thoroughly.
- Lead meetings and provide clarity in a complicated subject area.
- Work closely with the Data and Support Teams, to ensure a cohesive service to all clients.
- Occasionally travel to customer sites across the UK to conduct energy audits and provide on-site support.
Your Skills
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Energy management experience across a broad range of sectors.
- Customer facing skills, confident communication via video call, telephone and face to face.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products, especially excel and/or equivalent tools.
- Ability to analyse and manipulate data.
- Auditing experience, particularly the identification of suitable optimisations and ECMs.
Useful experience and qualifications:
- ESOS Lead Assessor
- EnCO Consultant / Practitioner Status
- CEMM&V qualifications and experience
- IPMVP familiarity and experience
- Able to travel to customer sites across the UK to provide energy audits and support, your own vehicle and a full clean driving licence are essential.
- Strong Excel skills and proven experience in energy data analysis are required, with familiarity in industry standards such as IPMVP considered highly advantageous.
