In this apprenticeship, you will follow a Science Manufacturing Process Operative pathway, gaining an appreciation of the science behind how we make sugar and learning how to control and monitor our process plants and its equipment efficiently, economically, and safely around the slicing and filtration stations.
An 18-month learning programme, following the Science Manufacturing Process Operative Standard, achieving a Level 2 Science Manufacturing Process Operative qualification and all the practical experience alongside, to be ready to move into a Process Support Technician role.
Working from our Wissington factory, on a 12-hour shift pattern comprising day and night shifts. This includes working some weekends and bank holidays. This apprenticeship will be a mix of on the job and distance learning.
This scheme gives you the opportunity to:
- Learn how the key operational functions in Extraction work within the factory.
- Gain a solid knowledge of key processes and equipment.
- Understand our systems and procedures to work safely and efficiently.
- Develop the behavioural skills to be a great team member.
What will you need?
- Be aged 18 and over as at 1 September 2026 for this shift-based role.
- Be living and eligible to work in the UK.
- You will need a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Level 5/C or above which must include Maths, English and a Science.
- Live our values of staying safe, drive to action, working together, respecting each other and being open and flexible.
- Candidates must be able to travel to the workplace.
