We are looking for a Fuel Systems Placement Student to join our Airbus Protect Sustainability Team in Filton. Airbus Protect is a multi-disciplinary Engineering Consultancy, specialising in Sustainability, Safety and Cyber technologies. Within the Sustainability Team, we help clients to minimise environmental impact through sustainable design, resource efficiency and responsible operations. Beyond environmental regulations and compliance, we support our clients’ resilience and readiness for the future through our knowledge of industrial processes, products and infrastructure.

Within the Fuel System Design team, our work predominantly focuses on ZEROe (Hydrogen Fuel System) and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) R&T projects, including production aircraft certification, verification and validation, supplier requirement definition, subsystem, equipment and architecture design amongst other activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out a wide variety of tasks related to all phases of the fuel system design lifecycle from initial concept through to extended service goal.
  • Contribute to the design, development, certification and continued safe operation of fuel systems and fuel inerting systems in fixed-wing aircraft, using Kerosene, Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and research into cryogenic hydrogen fuel systems.
  • Includes supporting activities that advance the project on behalf of the customer.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Enrolled full-time student within Aerospace Engineering or related fields.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Basic knowledge of AI tools.
  • Team player with good analytical skills, able to work independently and keen to learn new topics.
