An architectural practice based in the creative heart of South London, widely regarded as one of the best in the industry from a design perspective, is seeking an experienced Part 3 qualified Project Architect to join its growing studio, supporting the delivery of major workplace refurbishment and residential conversion developments. This well-established practice works across high-quality commercial, residential and mixed-use projects, with a strong reputation for complex retrofit and large-scale reuse schemes throughout the UK. With multiple landmark schemes commencing in 2026, the studio is expanding and offers excellent long-term career progression opportunities, including a clear pathway to Associate level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of assigned projects or design packages across RIBA Stages 3–5 on complex refurbishment and conversion schemes.
  • Produce, coordinate and manage detailed technical design packages and construction documentation using Revit.
  • Develop architectural solutions to complex retrofit and construction challenges.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams as lead designer.
  • Work collaboratively with contractors, attending regular site and progress meetings.
  • Prepare and manage specifications, technical detailing and compliance deliverables for Building Control and contractor packages.
  • Communicate directly with clients and stakeholders to ensure programme, budget and design quality are maintained.
  • Support and mentor junior team members while contributing to office-wide design culture.

Qualifications

  • RIBA Part III qualified and ARB registered Architect.
  • Proven experience delivering large refurbishment and adaptive-reuse projects in the UK.
  • Strong technical delivery background, ideally across Stages 3–5.
  • Ability to run project workstreams or design packages independently.
  • High-level proficiency in Revit essential.
  • Experienced in consultant coordination and contractor interface.
  • Confident technical problem solver with excellent detailing and specification ability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
