A highly respected, design-led architectural practice is seeking anEnvironmental Analysis Lead to play a pivotal role in driving forward sustainable and performance-led design across their portfolio of large-scale architecture and masterplanning projects in the UK and internationally.
This is a strategically important position that will sit at the intersection of design, technology, and sustainability—advancing low carbon, regenerative, and resilient design solutions. The successful candidate will report directly to the Partner leading sustainability and work across the practice in collaboration with design, technical, and research teams.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and refinement of the practice’s environmental design and building physics strategies, working closely with in-house sustainability, design technology, and research teams.

Support project teams across all RIBA stages, establishing and applying environmental strategies and undertaking performance analysis.

Maintain and improve the practice’s environmental tracking systems and design services toolkit.

Champion solutions that embed regenerative design, climate resilience, and circularity—particularly at the urban scale.

Represent the practice externally through active involvement in industry groups and initiatives (e.g. LETI, UKGBC, Architects Declare).

Contribute to the delivery of the practice’s internal environmental goals and decarbonisation pathway.
Skills & Experience

Postgraduate degree in Environmental Design, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline.

Significant experience in environmental design within a leading architectural or engineering context.

Deep technical knowledge of building physics and performance analysis.

Proficiency in environmental simulation and analytic tools such as Ladybug, Honeybee, PHPP, IES, and One Click LCA.

Skilled in using Rhino, Grasshopper, Revit, and carbon data management platforms.

Familiar with UK building regulations (Parts L & O) and industry standards including RIBA 2030, LETI, and BREEAM, WELL, LEED, NABERS.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex environmental analysis into clear, actionable design strategies.
