We are seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Flooring Shop Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of our Beckenham flooring showroom. The successful candidate will have strong product knowledge across carpets, luxury vinyl tiles (LVT), wood and other flooring solutions, and the ability to be a team player while delivering excellent customer service and strong sales performance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operation of the retail flooring showroom
  • Ensure the showroom is well presented, organised and fully stocked with samples
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and professionalism
  • Assist customers in selecting appropriate flooring solutions for their needs
  • Provide expert advice on carpets, LVT, laminate, wood and other flooring products
  • Prepare quotations, process orders and follow up sales enquiries
  • Build relationships with retail customers, interior designers and trade clients
  • Supervise and support team members
  • Motivate the team to achieve sales targets and maintain service standards
  • Provide guidance on product knowledge and sales techniques

Operations

  • Coordinate with suppliers and installers to ensure smooth order fulfilment
  • Manage stock levels and sample inventory
  • Handle customer queries and resolve any issues professionally

Business Development

  • Drive showroom sales and maximise opportunities with new and existing customers
  • Support local marketing initiatives and promotions
  • Maintain strong relationships with key flooring manufacturers and suppliers

Requirements

  • Proven experience in retail flooring, including carpets and hard flooring
  • Strong knowledge of flooring products such as carpet, LVT, laminate and wood
  • Previous retail management or supervisory experience
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to prepare quotations and manage orders accurately
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A proactive and commercially minded approach to sales
  • Experience working with flooring brands such as Amtico, Karndean, Cormar, Alternative Flooring or similar
  • Knowledge of measuring, estimating and flooring installation processes
  • Experience working with trade clients, interior designers or property professionals
