BCS Connect are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join an established civil engineering and groundworks contractor on a project in Sleaford, Lincoln, starting 28th September.

The company has a strong reputation across the construction sector, delivering civil engineering, groundworks, infrastructure and residential development projects.

They have extensive experience delivering works including roads and sewers, drainage, foundations and Section 278 works, with a focus on quality, safety and reliable project delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Manager with a strong groundworks and civils background who is looking for a long-term position, with the role initially offered on a freelance basis with the potential to move temp-to-perm.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

As Site Manager, you will be responsible for

  • Managing the day-to-day delivery of civils and groundworks activities.
  • Supervising subcontractors, site teams and labour.
  • Managing 278 works, roads, sewers and drainage packages.
  • Ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to programme.
  • Reading and working from construction drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinating site activities and liaising with engineers, subcontractors and the project team.
  • Monitoring quality and ensuring works meet required standards.
  • Conducting site briefings, toolbox talks and daily coordination.
  • Maintaining site records, diaries and relevant documentation.
  • Ensuring all Health & Safety procedures and site rules are followed.
  • Identifying and resolving issues on site before they impact programme or quality.
  • Supporting the wider project team with planning and progress updates.
  • ✅ Key Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering/groundworks.
  • Strong experience delivering Section 278 works.
  • Excellent knowledge of roads and sewers.
  • Good understanding of drainage, groundworks and infrastructure projects.
  • Previous experience managing subcontractors and site teams.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering/construction drawings.
  • Strong Health & Safety awareness.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • SMSTS.
  • CSCS relevant to the role.
  • First Aid desirable.
  • A strong track record of delivering projects safely, on time and to a high standard.
