We’re delighted to be supporting our client; a reputable and long-standing civil engineering contractor who deliver major infrastructure, water and public sector projects across the UK. With strong continuity of work, an excellent delivery record and a collaborative culture, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Engineer to play a key role within their Northumbria Water Framework delivery team. This is a permanent role offering project variety, security and career development — ideal for someone who wants to step into a respected contractor with a growing pipeline of work.
The Role
As Senior Engineer, you will support the planning, technical delivery and engineering assurance of water infrastructure works. You will be responsible for modelling, technical design input, compliance, QA and providing high-level engineering support across project teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Engineering modelling & design support across water projects
- Producing technical drawings — AutoCAD experience essential
- Ensuring technical compliance & quality assurance across delivery
- Supporting planning, method statements, risk & design reviews
- Providing guidance to site engineers and operational teams
- Collaborating with clients, designers and internal stakeholders
- Contributing to continuous improvement and delivery quality
There will be occasional requirements to work away from home, so flexibility to do so is a must.
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Previous experience as a Senior Engineer on water sector projects
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering, utilities or water infrastructure
- AutoCAD proficiency (non-negotiable due to modelling work)
- Strong problem-solving and technical assurance skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage technical packages
- Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Comfort working away from home when required
