BCS Connect is currently recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established civil engineering contractor on a long-term freelance basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work on major civil engineering and groundworks projects, supporting the commercial team while gaining exposure to a varied and challenging workload.
The Role
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in supporting the commercial management of projects, ensuring costs are controlled and commercial objectives are achieved.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the commercial management of civil engineering and groundworks projects.
- Preparing and managing project costings.
- Supporting the administration and agreement of compensation events.
- Assisting with change management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitoring project costs and reporting on commercial performance.
- Preparing valuations and assisting with subcontractor payments.
- Working closely with site and commercial teams to ensure projects remain commercially successful.
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and documentation.
