An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Architect or Architectural Technologist to join a growing practice based in Trafford Park, Manchester. The practice has a strong track record in healthcare and public-sector architecture, alongside experience across a wider range of sectors, delivering projects from early design through to technical delivery and completion. Their approach is hands-on and collaborative, with the directors remaining closely involved throughout projects.
The team is growing and they are looking for an experienced Architect or Technologist who can take ownership of projects, confidently coordinate with consultants and clients and play an active role within the wider studio. Healthcare experience would be highly desirable, although candidates with strong experience in other sectors will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Taking responsibility for projects across relevant RIBA stages
- Developing and delivering high-quality architectural and technical information
- Coordinating projects with clients, consultants, contractors and wider design teams
- Attending and leading project meetings where appropriate
- Managing project information, programmes and deliverables
- Producing and reviewing detailed design and technical information
- Supporting projects through construction and delivery stages
- Liaising with contractors and consultants to resolve technical and design issues
- Contributing to design development and project strategy
- Supporting junior members of the team and sharing knowledge and experience
- Working closely with the directors and wider team to deliver projects to a high standard
Skills and Experience
- Qualified Architect or experienced Architectural Technologist
- Ideally 5+ years' UK architectural experience
- Strong project experience from concept through to technical delivery
- Healthcare experience would be highly desirable, but experience in other sectors will be considered
- Confident running project meetings and communicating with clients and consultants
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of UK building regulations and construction
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams
- Proficiency in Revit is essential
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Able to take ownership of projects and work with a good level of autonomy
- Collaborative approach and comfortable working within a small, director-led practice
