Based in Manchester, you’ll be part of a friendly and forward-thinking studio, working on a range of projects with real scope for progression.
Key Responsibilities- Develop project briefs into considered design solutions aligned with the RIBA Plan of Work, working with a high degree of autonomy.
- Contribute to the coordination and delivery of pre-construction information across project stages.
- Produce efficient, sustainable and buildable design solutions.
- Ensure designs comply with UK regulations, British Standards and relevant Codes of Practice.
- Advise on material selection, considering performance, cost, and environmental impact.
- Prepare detailed technical specifications using NBS, supported by up-to-date manufacturer information.
- Support design development in line with project budgets, including value engineering where required.
- Participate in project reviews, coordination meetings and workshops.
- Assist in preparing and submitting planning, building regulations and building safety documentation.
- Liaise with statutory authorities and contribute to reports and submissions.
- Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors and specialist teams.
- Support the management of design risks and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Assist during construction stages, including troubleshooting design-related issues.
- Qualified Architect (RIBA Part III) with ARB registration.
- Minimum 3+ years’ post-qualification experience within a UK architectural practice.
- Strong technical knowledge, including construction detailing and UK regulatory requirements.
- Experience in the education sector (desirable, not essential).
- Commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery within a consultancy environment.
- Proficiency in design and visualisation tools such as SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit (BIM experience preferred).
- Hybrid working arrangement.
