Mechanical Fitter – Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Maintain, repair, and improve a wide range of heavy industrial machinery.
- Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) to minimise downtime and extend equipment life.
- Respond quickly to breakdowns and perform effective reactive maintenance.
- Diagnose mechanical faults across a range of heavy plant machinery.
- Repair and replace components such as bearings, gearboxes, chains, belts, pumps, and hydraulic systems.
- Work on conveyors, crushers, screening equipment, and other large‑scale industrial systems.
- Conduct alignment, fitting, and installation of mechanical components.
- Use technical drawings and manuals to support maintenance activities.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations.
- Assist with shutdowns, overhauls, and project work.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Proven experience in a heavy industrial environment. Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills. Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Electrical Engineer – Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Perform planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the site.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults quickly and efficiently.
- Work with PLC systems to identify and resolve control issues.
- Maintain and repair motors, drives, control panels, and instrumentation.
- Carry out testing, inspection, and fault finding on electrical systems.
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and site procedures.
- Collaborate with mechanical teams to resolve cross‑functional issues.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repairs.
