About the role
Are you an experienced CNC Operator / Setter looking for a secure, long‑term opportunity? We’re recruiting for a skilled individual to join a busy manufacturing team in Brownhills. This role is ideal for someone confident in both operating and setting CNC machinery, with a strong understanding of machining processes and a hands‑on approach to production.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Setting and operating CNC machines (lathes and/or mills)
- Loading and unloading materials and components safely and efficiently
- Carrying out tool changes and offsets to maintain production quality
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and job specifications
- Monitoring machine performance and making basic adjustments where required
- Inspecting finished components using measuring equipment (verniers, micrometers, gauges)
- Ensuring all parts meet quality standards and tolerances
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Reporting any faults, issues, or non‑conformances
- Supporting continuous improvement and production efficiency
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a CNC Operator / Setter / CNC Machinist
- Hands‑on experience with tool changes and machine setup
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Experience working to tight tolerances
- Competent using inspection and measuring tools
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive work ethic
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience with both CNC turning and milling
- Knowledge of CNC controls (Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, etc.)
- Engineering qualification or time‑served apprenticeship
