The family live in a large 5-bedroom property in the village of Shenley, which is close to North London and also 14 miles from Central London with train links to King Cross. The family is composed of Mum, Dad and 3 children aged 8, 12 and 14. They also have 3 small dogs (Shih Tzu and Cavapoo), so you must be a child-friendly and pet-friendly housekeeper.

They are looking for a housekeeper not only to assist them with the household duties but to also be a part of their home and family (they treat their staff very well), someone who is looking to stay long term.

The ideal candidate will be a strong team player with a positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to help wherever needed, who is able to interact with them and their children and is a pleasure to have around. The Housekeeper will have incredibly high standards for cleanliness, organisation and presentation.

  • Getting children ready for school in the mornings
  • Maintaining the laundry and ironing
  • Babysitting when required
  • Cooking light meals for the children and occasionally for the parents
  • Receiving deliveries and dealing with contractors
  • Helping when the family is entertaining (preparing things, clearing up afterwards, etc.)
  • Feeding the three small dogs, letting them out in the garden, and occasionally walking them
  • Ad hoc duties as required

Working days and hours: Mon to Fri, 7am to 7:30pm with breaks. Accommodation for the Housekeeper would be own room and bathroom on the top floor. Food is also provided. Driving is not essential. Their last housekeeper has been with them for 3 years and highly recommends them.

Start: ASAP ideally but might be able to wait a bit for the right candidate.

  • Prior housekeeping experience in a high-end private household
  • Fluent in English and must have full rights to live and work in the UK
  • Hardworking, dedicated, and flexible
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Proactive and organised
  • Trustworthy and reliable
  • Ideally 4-5 years with the same family/client previously
  • Able to comfortably keep up with the family active lifestyle
