Overview

We are seeking an outstanding Head Housekeeper to manage a team of housekeepers in UHNW family’s properties in Chelsea and Belgravia (1 office + 4 residences, all within close walking distance). This is a key leadership position within the growing Family Office structure. The successful candidate will act as the Head Housekeeper, helping to oversee a team of housekeepers across multiple properties while ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, organisation, service and household presentation.

The role requires strong private household experience, excellent communication skills, the ability to train and motivate staff, and confidence with administrative and scheduling responsibilities. A calm, polished and discreet manner is essential.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Leading, motivating and supporting the housekeeping team
  • Train new staff on household standards, cleaning methods, service expectations and SOPs
  • Maintain consistency of standards across all properties
  • Conduct spot checks, quality control inspections and provide supportive feedback
  • Help plan and update manuals, checklists, inventories and SOPs

Scheduling & Administration

  • Creating staff rotas, ensuring fair and efficient distribution of shifts
  • Coordinate team coverage across all properties based on household needs
  • Assist with holiday planning, time-in-lieu scheduling and shift adjustments
  • Manage housekeeping supplies, stock control and ordering
  • Liaise with the Family Office regarding maintenance requests and operational needs
  • Provide clear handovers between shifts and maintain accurate records

Hands-On Housekeeping & Service

  • Work alongside the team when needed, leading by example
  • Perform high-level housekeeping, deep cleaning and organisational tasks
  • Ensure immaculate presentation of all household spaces
  • Safely handle luxury finishes, artwork, antiques and fine materials

Professional Conduct

  • Maintain discretion and uphold confidentiality at all times (NDA required)
  • Present a calm, professional and polished demeanour

Schedule and Shifts

  • 5 days per week, up to 45 hours
  • Shifts include early and late patterns depending on business and family needs.
  • Weekend work required on rotation
  • Two consecutive days off per week (may fall midweek when on weekend rotation)
  • Rotas released two weeks in advance at least
  • All locations are walkable; Ubers provided for finishing at 10pm for late shifts or inter-property transfers if needed.
  • Flexibility required according to household priorities

Uniform & Presentation

  • Uniform provided and must be maintained to a high standard
  • Immaculate grooming and presentation expected at all times

Environment

  • UHNW private households with exceptionally high standards
  • Team of professional housekeepers across multiple properties
  • A small dog may be present in one property (not currently in residence)

Interview & Trial Process

  • First interview in person (video possible if necessary)
  • Paid trial shift to assess leadership ability, housekeeping standards and team fit
  • Offer subject to references and NDA Requirements

Requirements

  • Experience as Head Housekeeper or senior executive Housekeeper within UHNW private homes
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, guide and support a team
  • Confident with scheduling, rota planning and household administration
  • Exceptional housekeeping and garment care skills
  • Ability to uphold and enforce standards across multiple properties
  • Ideally with a strong 5 star hotel background in housekeeping also (not essential)
  • Discreet, reliable, professional and team-oriented
  • Calm under pressure and able to adapt to changing household needs
