PrivateChef – Sloane Square & South of France

Aprivate household is looking for an experienced Private Chef to join them on apermanent, long-term basis.

Location: Sloane Square, London & South of France

Position: Live-out in London / Live-in in South of France (just for 2-2.5 months during the summer)

Start: Ideally beginning of November for trials following by start date,although the family can wait for the right person

Salary: Good, depending on experience

Household: Usually 1–3 family members plus staff in London. In the Southof France, typically 4–14 people, with up to approximately 30 people whenentertaining.

Thefamily is looking for a talented and flexible Private Chef who can preparefresh, healthy and varied food, with a particular focus on Italian and Frenchcuisine, although confidence with other cuisines is also important.

ThePrincipal is very fitness-focused and follows a clean, healthy diet, so theChef must be confident preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals usinghigh-quality fresh ingredients.

Theposition will be live-out in London and live-in in the South of France duringthe summer months, approximately June to August.

ThePrincipal spends approximately five months of the year in London, usually inperiods of 1–3 weeks at a time. When the Principal is in residence, the Chefwill need to be flexible and available to cook for him and his family,including his partner and child.

Whenthe Principal is away from London, the Chef will mainly be cooking for thehousehold staff. This means there will be opportunities to take more time offduring quieter periods in London. In return, flexibility is essential when thePrincipal is in residence and during the approximately 2- 2.5 months spent inthe South of France, when the Chef will be expected to cover the full period.

Thisis a sole Chef position in London. In the South of France, the Chef will alsotake the lead; however, when the family is entertaining larger numbers ofguests, additional help will be arranged.

Theproperty in the South of France has its own vegetable garden, and the Chef willbe encouraged to make full use of the fresh seasonal produce available. Adriving licence is essential, as the Chef will be responsible for shopping andsourcing additional ingredients while in France. In London, food andingredients are generally delivered to the property.

• Creating menus suitable forthe Principal’s clean and fitness-focused diet
  
• Italian and French cooking,as well as a variety of other cuisines
  
• Daily cooking for thefamily and household staff
  
• Menu planning and adaptingmeals according to the household’s requirements
  
• Shopping and sourcinghigh-quality ingredients when required
  
• Making use of fresh,seasonal produce from the vegetable garden in France
  
• Keeping the kitchen clean,organised and well maintained
  
• Catering for guests andentertaining when required
  
• Travelling with the familyto the South of France during the summer, approximately June–August
  

Interviews/ start: Interviews will take place during October, with trials ideally beginning inNovember. However, the family is happy to wait for the right candidate to trialand start.

Requirements

Theideal candidate:

• An experienced Private Chefwith previous private household experience
