A private household in Cotswolds (a really beautiful area in the countryside) is seeking an experienced and reliable live-in, efficient Housekeeper to take full responsibility for the day-to-day running, care, and maintenance of a country estate with 18 bedrooms. This is a hands-on role suited to a practical, self-sufficient Housekeeper who takes pride in maintaining a home to a high standard and working with discretion and initiative. This is the family’s countryside estate and serves as their second home. You will have your own separate 1 bedroom flat, attached to the main house. The family is composed of two adults and their 2 grown up daughters. The family lives in this property most weekends from Fri to Mon, hence weekend work is a must. The property is fully staffed, including an Estate Manager, gardeners, and other household employees, so you must be comfortable working as part of a wider team. This position is to support and work alongside another Housekeeper/Maintenance Couple who are already employed at the property and carry out the same duties. Therefore, this is a second Housekeeper role rather than a sole-charge position.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Full housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, ironing, and household organisation
  • Ongoing care and upkeep of the interior of the property
  • Monitoring household systems and liaising with contractors when required
  • Receiving deliveries and overseeing property security
  • Family cooking when required but this is not a must
  • Driving is a must
  • Daily care of household pets – 6 dogs

General

  • Flexibility to adapt to the family’s routines and occasional changes to schedule
  • Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues before they arise

Working Days & Hours

  • 5 days a week including weekends. 2 days off during the week. Start: ASAP by the 1st of July

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a live-in Housekeeper in a big household
  • Strong housekeeping skills
  • Confident, caring, and experienced with pets
  • Trustworthy, discreet, and reliable
  • Able to work independently and use initiative
  • Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on work
  • Legal right to work in the UK
