Salary: £14.85 per hour, plus a shift allowance equivalent to 8.75 hours per week

- Week 1 Monday to Thursday: 6:00am - 4:00pm
- Week 2 Monday to Friday: 6:00am - 2:00pm

About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Electrician or Maintenance Electrician to join their Maintenance team at their manufacturing site. Working in a busy heavy engineering environment, you'll be responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability of our plant, machinery and electrical infrastructure. This hands-on role involves carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), responding to electrical breakdowns and supporting continuous improvement projects to minimise downtime and maximise production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical maintenance.
- Provide electrical breakdown cover across the site.
- Diagnose and repair faults on forging presses, hammers, furnaces, CNC lathes, millers, borers and other production equipment.
- Complete electrical installation work in accordance with the latest 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Update maintenance records using the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System).
- Support electrical improvement projects and infrastructure upgrades.
- Identify critical electrical spare parts requirements.
- Work closely with production teams, maintenance engineers and subcontractors.
- Support apprentices and maintain high standards of health and safety.
About You:
You'll be a proactive and reliable engineer who enjoys fault finding and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential:
- City & Guilds qualified or a time-served electrical apprenticeship.
- Strong knowledge of electrical principles.
- Experience as an Electrician, Maintenance Electrician, Industrial Electrician or Electrical Maintenance Engineer.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, industrial or heavy engineering environment.
- Experience of fault finding, electrical maintenance and industrial machinery.
- Knowledge of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable:
- Experience working on CNC machinery, furnaces, forging presses or heavy industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of CMMS systems.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement projects.
