Bespak are looking for a Toolmaker for the Kings Lynn site, PE30 2JJ. The salary range for this permanent onsite role is between £43k and £49k (the salary includes the shift allowance). Our generous benefits package includes 28 days leave plus bank holidays, 8% company pension contribution to employees 3%, onsite parking and medical/dental/health/life assurance.
Working Pattern: 3 Shift Mon to Fri 2pm to 10:30pm / 6am to 2:30pm / 10pm to 6:30am, alternates each week.
As a Toolmaker, you will be responsible for the end-to-end servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of complex injection mould tools to ensure maximum production efficiency and product integrity. You will manufacture precision parts from drawings using a full range of workshop equipment, always maintaining a "right first time" approach and strict adherence to quality standards. Beyond technical maintenance, you will manage documentation, obtain external quotations, and provide expert feedback to leadership to improve manufacturing robustness. Your role also involves a leadership element, as you will coach apprentices and assistants while identifying continuous improvement opportunities to enhance functional outputs. Throughout all activities, you will act as a guardian of site safety and cGMP compliance, ensuring that every task is completed diligently and safely.
As a Toolmaker your duties will include:
- Maintain high safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Service, repair, and troubleshoot complex injection mould tools.
- Manufacture tooling parts using various toolroom equipment.
- Support the validation and manufacture of new tooling.
- Maintain equipment and update essential technical documentation.
- Coach assistants and apprentices to ensure safe operations.
Preferred key skills and experience:
- Completed Toolmaker Apprenticeship or equivalent with proven experience within a precision toolroom environment.
- Strong ability to interpret complex technical drawings, including detailed 2D and 3D mould tool schematics.
- Hands-on experience with hot runner, cold runner, including assembly, maintenance, repair and fault diagnosis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in identifying and resolving tooling and moulding faults.
- Ability to plan, prioritise, and complete tasks independently, demonstrating accuracy, efficiency, and ownership of work.
- HNC qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or practical experience in CAD/CAM machining (e.g., CNC programming, toolpath optimisation).
