Bespak is looking for a Mechanical Skilled Engineer for the Holmes Chapel site, CW4 8BE. This is a permanent, onsite role. The salary for this role is £49,500 plus shift allowance. Other benefits you will receive are 25 days leave plus bank holidays, discretionary annual bonus, generous 10% pension contribution, onsite free parking, and medical / dental / health / life assurance. Working Pattern – Monday to Friday 8am - 4:30pm.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our facilities team. This role is critical in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of mechanical systems across our site.

• Maintain, repair, and improve mechanical equipment and pressurised systems, including steam, water, purified water, compressed air, trade effluent, and HVAC systems.
• Support a wide range of equipment such as pumps, rotating machinery, compressors, chillers, and fans.
• Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond effectively to reactive maintenance tasks.
• Supervise contractors on-site, ensuring compliance with risk assessments, method statements (RAMs), and site procedures.
• Ensure all activities are carried out in line with health, safety, and regulatory standards.

• Work within pharmaceutical industry requirements, including change control and validation processes.
• Follow Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) procedures at all times.
• Maintain accurate documentation to support compliance and audits.

• Participate in the site call-out rota.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering and facilities team.

• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within a regulated or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of HVAC and pressurised systems.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical or highly regulated environments is desirable.
