Bespak is looking for a Mechanical Skilled Engineer for the Holmes Chapel site, CW4 8BE. This is a permanent, onsite role. The salary for this role is £49,500 plus shift allowance. Other benefits you will receive are 25 days leave plus bank holidays, discretionary annual bonus, generous 10% pension contribution, onsite free parking, and medical / dental / health / life assurance. Working Pattern – Monday to Friday 8am - 4:30pm.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our facilities team. This role is critical in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of mechanical systems across our site.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain, repair, and improve mechanical equipment and pressurised systems, including steam, water, purified water, compressed air, trade effluent, and HVAC systems.
- Support a wide range of equipment such as pumps, rotating machinery, compressors, chillers, and fans.
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond effectively to reactive maintenance tasks.
- Supervise contractors on-site, ensuring compliance with risk assessments, method statements (RAMs), and site procedures.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in line with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Work within pharmaceutical industry requirements, including change control and validation processes.
- Follow Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) procedures at all times.
- Maintain accurate documentation to support compliance and audits.
- Participate in the site call-out rota.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering and facilities team.
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within a regulated or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of HVAC and pressurised systems.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical or highly regulated environments is desirable.
